Co- Createing the Beloved Community

Where people of diverse multicultural, racial, ethnic, educational, class, gender, sexual orientation backgrounds/identities come together in an interdependent relationship of love, mutual respect, and care that seeks to realize justice within the community and in the broader world.
We are committed to creating racial /multicultural equality in our society. We have a shared commitment toward ethical and spiritual growth in addressing our own racial biases and the insidious nature of racism in our society today. We are willing to move into places of discomfort, shine light on our denial, and educate ourselves and others, about the realities of white supremacy and do the work necessary to bridge America’s racial divide.

We hope to learn and show each other how to examine our lives
so to support the worth and dignity of every person.

We are journeying toward spiritual wholeness by working to build a diverse multicultural Beloved Community by our actions that accountably dismantle racism and other oppressions in ourselves and our institutions.”

THE SYSTEMIC DEVALUING OF LIVES CALLS US TO BEAR WITNESS
Racism reaches far beyond any single incident or person. It is an institutionalized cultural pattern. We support a movement and a stance in response to this reality. The United States was built on a legacy of slavery, racism, and oppression that continues to take on many new intersecting and ever-changing forms. When we face our racist past and it’s present manifestations we may be faced with feelings of guilt. Instead of spending your energies on guilt, let us spend them on motivating action, bearing witness and changing what is wrong.
